Your Personalised Shopping Experience awaits, and I'm here to make your day as stress-free, fun and easy as possible.

At the scheduled time of your appointment, I, Belinda, your personal stylist, will meet you at the David Jones Stylist Lounge.

 

From the very first moment, your comfort and satisfaction are my priority.

As this is not our first styling session together, we can get straight into finding the right pieces to suit your current wants and needs, all while meeting your personal style where you're at.

Throughout our shop, I’ll guide you where to invest, and where to save, when it comes to building the wardrobe of your dreams. From colours to styles, I will help you select items that not only fit your personality, shape and complexion, but also make you look and feel incredible.

Where to meet for your Personal Shopping Experience
  • Make your way to Claremont Quarter - 9 Bay View Terrace, Claremont, WA 6010. The basement carpark offers free 3-hour parking on, best accessed via Gugeri St or Divers Link.

  • We’ll meet at the Style Lounge, Level __, adjacent to the David Jones changerooms within David Jones.  Enter through David Jones, Level 1, past Georg Jensen and Viktoria & Woods. Head left to the Style Lounge, located on the left hand side adjacent to the women's fitting rooms.

How it works

  1. ☑️ Make a booking at a time that suits you. DONE

  2. ☑️ Give me your shopping ideas via an easy-to-fill-out form before our shop (all good if you don’t know where to start, I’ll give you all the right prompts) DONE (And if not, please fill out before our appointment)

  3. Meet at Claremont Quarter, Style Lounge.

  4. Check in and discuss all your wants and needs.

  5. Based on your ideas and requirements, we’ll tick off all the items you need for your style needs ready for you to walk out the door looking and feeling great. 

No more hunting to find the right outfit for the occasion. We'll get it sorted efficiently so you can be ready to enjoy yourself as well as look and feel great.

It's about more than the clothes

I'm a proud mum of three beautiful children and I’ve experienced ALL the joys and juggling of work and family life.

I grew up in Sydney near the amazing Hawkesbury River, which perhaps explains my love of the outdoors, water and fresh caught seafood.

 

I'm an avid traveller who worked in the airline and travel industry in my early career. I travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Pacific, immersing myself in food, culture and international fashion along the way.

 

But the world of fashion, and the way clothes can affect how we look and feel, has always held a special fascination for me. I studied textiles and design and worked in retail fashion for over 10 years before establishing Department of Style.

 

I'm warm, easy going and down to earth and  it’s my mission to make your entire styling experience fun, informative and life-changing!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A: We start with a holistic approach, I request you fill out a questionnaire to fully understand what your needs and wants are. It is so important I understand lifestyle, personal preferences so we can make the most of our shopping time together.

  • A: After you’ve booked a Personal Styling session there are two stages for me to get to know you. 

    Step 1: A questionnaire will be sent to you asking for key information about your lifestyle and preferences. 

    Step 2: We have a chat in person over coffee, about the questionnaire and I’ll ask further questions so that I fully understand your needs before we go shopping.

  • A: There is no pressure from me, I together with you, whatever your budget. Remember there is a stylist discount available at many places and you are always welcome to establish which pieces are bast for you, and purchase them at a later date, and purchase them on sale. I will always meet you where you’re at.

  • A: I don’t not earn any affiliate commission at anywhere we shop. 100% of my stylist discount get passed onto you. My advice is completely independent, I do not earn any additional commission.

  • A: Easy, comfortable clothes and shoes. Definitely worth wearing two piece outfit (top and bottoms), and slip on shoes is also a good idea for quick changes.

  • A: We’ll meet at Claremont Qtr, at the David Jones Style Lounge ready for your shopping experience.

  • A: Please allow full duration of your chosen booking time for your Personal Styling Experience.

  • A: I’ll do a follow up email, with links to items that may not be available at Karrinyup or that we weren’t able to purchase at the time.

  • A: No, I’m completely independent and my recommendations are not restricted to what is available there at the time. Often I will give alternatives for items that are available online or at independent stores, both local and interstate. I love to support small businesses and these small businesses support up and coming designers. Part of my ethos is also to shop smart and support small.
