Easy Summer Capsule Wardrobe

The holiday season is here and is often the time of year we take a well earned break.

Here are my top tips to help you put together a beautiful and easy summer holiday capsule wardrobe.

1. Check the weather for your destination and consider what type of activities you will be doing.

For me, everything revolves around the water and a good book. This will help you determine what type of clothes to pack.

2. Choose a colour scheme

A capsule wardrobe doesn't need to be beige and boring! I like to include print in either a dress or skirt to create variety for the outfits. For this capsule, I've used pops of red and print to make the outfits interesting and fun.

3. Include staples

Such as solid coloured tops and neutral shoes that can work with a variety of outfits.

4. Mix and Match

Each item should work with multiple other items. This will allow you to create loads of outfits with fewer pieces.

5. Versatility is key

Opt for items that can be easily dressed up or down by changing the accessories. The maxi skirt I've used can be dressed up with heels and a small bag or work in a casual setting with flat sandals and a tote.

6. Accessories Rock

The power of accessories to transform your outfits is key to a fabulous capsule wardrobe. Don't forget to include interesting jewellery, bags, hat, sunglasses and shoes to elevate your outfits.

7. Limit your pairs of shoes

As shoes tend to take up a lot of space, opt for neutral colours and a mixture of casual and dressier styles. Depending on your holiday, 2-3 pairs should do the trick. 1 pair of comfortable walking shoes, flat sandals and a pair of heels for going out and fancier occasions.

HOT TIP

Pack efficiently by rolling clothes instead of folding them to save space. Packing cubes also make the job super easy, and I'm all for that when heading away on holidays.

Here's a fun holiday capsule wardrobe to give you some ideas on how to put your own together.

A bright maxi skirt is the perfect addition to a holiday capsule wardrobe. Dress it up with heels, a clutch and interesting jewellery.

Or try the easy holiday style with shorts and a cute 1 shoulder top, for a more casual vibe, add your favourite top, flat sandals, a tote and sunnies.
