With Mother’s Day just gone and autumn in full swing, it’s a lovely time to pause, reflect, and reconnect with your personal style. ✨
Autumn dressing is all about textures and layers. To add interest to your outfits, try mixing smooth textures like satin or leather with rich, tactile fabrics such as chunky knits, corduroy, suede, and velvet.
Bel’s Favourite Five Textures 🌸
I’m seeing so many fabulous items around this autumn, it’s so hard to limit it to just five, but let me tell you why they made it to the list and how to wear them.
1️⃣ Velvet Blazer @sportscraftFirstly, how luxurious to have a blazer in velvet. Try getting everyone to keep their hands to themselves when you wear this stunning jacket.Style with jeans and a white tee during the day. Or for night time choose a cream silk cami or satin shirt, with dark denim jeans or navy pants. Oh la la 🍒
2️⃣ Pink shirt @viktoriaandwoodsThe fabric and detail of this shirt is next level. The shade of pink is beautiful and a nice twist on a classic white button down. This shirt could be easily styled with jeans for smart casual or wide leg pants in either navy, grey or chocolate for work. Winner 🥇 🏆
3️⃣ Heart shaped locket @francescajewelleryThis beautiful locket comes in silver, yellow gold and pink gold. You have the option of getting photos of your loved ones put inside. What a beautiful gift for mum for Mother’s Day. Jewellery is always the cherry on top of any outfit and this locket necklace is a timeless look that will be treasured for many years.✨

Here are a few outfit ideas that combine contrasting textures. Shop your own wardrobe and come up with your own unique combinations.
Chunky knit jumper + leather or pleather (faux leather) pants or skirt.
Cord pants + a silk shirt + leather jacket
Leather jacket + a silk slip dress or skirt
Chunky knit + silk pants or satin skirt
Velvet jacket + cotton tee + denim jeans
Cotton Tee + silk scarf + suede jacket + denim skirt
Add gold or silver jewellery to any outfit combination to add another texture (metallic)
You might be surprised by how much you already have in your wardrobe to work with. Sometimes, all it takes is a fresh perspective to see new possibilities and combinations you hadn’t noticed before.
